
The delegation of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan represented by Bakytzhan Slyamov, Deputy Chairman and Yermek Kozhabergenov, Head of the International Cooperation Department arrived in Brussels of the Kingdom of Belgium to participate in the 139th/140th sessions of the Customs Cooperation Council, which will be held at the headquarters of the World Customs Organization from June 23 to 25, 2022.
On June 22 of this year, on the eve of the main event of the international customs community, the Kazakh delegation met with the Head of the General Directorate of Customs and Excise of the Kingdom of Belgium, Kristian Vanderwaeren.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of customs.
The head of the Kazakh delegation noted that Belgium is a strategic economic partner and one of the largest investors in the economy of Kazakhstan, stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in customs administration.
Mr. Vanderwaeren assured that Kazakhstan is a key partner of Belgium in the Central Asian region and agreed on the need for close and mutually beneficial cooperation in customs matters.
The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen mutually beneficial partnership in order to ensure the smooth movement of goods and vehicles and maintain international trade, especially in the context of the recovery of national economies after the global pandemic.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Chairman Mr. Slyamov invited Mr. Vanderwaeren on a visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
