       On November 2-3, 2023, the 12th meeting of the Subcommittee on Cooperation between Checkpoints and in the Field of Customs Affairs of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee was held in Shenzhen, China.

      The Kazakh delegation was headed by K.K. Dzhumagulov, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Chinese delegation was headed by Wang Lingjun, Deputy Minister of the General Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China.

      The issue of increasing the capacity at automobile checkpoints across the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan-the People's Republic of China was the main topic of negotiations.

      The sides noted a positive trend in the growth of cargo traffic between the two countries and made a number of decisions aimed at ensuring uninterrupted, stable and simplified border crossing.

     In particular, taking into account the positive effect of the pilot project of 24-hour operation at the Nur Zholy - Khorgos checkpoints, in the period from August 14 to September 30, 2023, the heads of delegations agreed to continue its implementation over the next 4 months, and agreements were reached on taking comprehensive measures to crossing the checkpoints "Maykapshagai" - "Zimunai" and "Kalzhat" - "Dulats" for a 7-day 12-hour operation, the use of the potential of the International Center for Cross-Border Cooperation "Khorgos" to increase bilateral trade, the creation of an operational headquarters to address emerging problematic issues when crossing the state border, and others.

     The measures taken are aimed at increasing trade turnover, activating Kazakh-Chinese business relations and improving the welfare of the population.
