On the basis of the customs post "Altynkol", training was conducted on the topic "Organization of radiation control"
The Education and Methodological Center of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan (further - EMC)jointly with the Department of the Program “Detection and Prevention of Nuclear Smuggling” (“Second Line of Protection”) of the National Nuclear Security Administration of the Ministry of Energy of the United States for the State Revenue Department of Almaty region of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan (further - SRD) conducted training of SRD officials on the basis of the customs post "Altynkol" on the topic "Organization of radiation monitoring".
The instructors and organizers of the event were:
- Maldybaeva Zamira Aidarbekovna - Head of the Department of the organization of educational and methodical work of the EMC;
- Aitzhanov Dyusenali Aitzhanovich - chief specialist of the department of initial training of the EMC;
- Kalshabekov Zhaisar Nurlibayevich - chief specialist of the department of integrated control and customs infrastructure of the SRD in Turkestan region.
Okenov Nariman Tleugabylovich, head of the department of integrated control and customs infrastructure of the State Revenue Department, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
The training took place in accordance with the approved program, which included conducting practical exercises at the Yantar radiation portal monitors at «International Center for Border Cooperation Khorgos» (passenger and car checkpoints) and Altynkol - Railway (cargo checkpoint) of the Altynkol customs post.
From May 20 to May 24, 2019 14 employees improved their qualifications, and from May 27 to May 31, 18 officers of the SRD completed training.
In the course of training, topics such as the fundamentals of radiation, the introduction and use of radiation monitoring systems were considered, and the problems encountered in daily activities were touched upon.
According to the program, preliminary and final knowledge assessments in the form of testing were carried out, which showed the growth of students' knowledge. A survey was also conducted, according to the results of which the participants noted a good level of organization and expressed wishes for the continuation of such events in the future.
Upon completion of the course 32 employees of the customs post "Altynkol" and "Dostyk" customs of the SRD in Almaty region were awarded certificates of successful training.
