The application of labeling of goods will allow consumers to exercise public control
of goods
The fight against illicit trafficking of goods is one of the pressing problems in the world.
The world experience shows that one of the most effective tools to fight the counterfeit market is digital labeling of goods.
The international projects in the field of marking and tracing of goods have long established themselves in many countries of the world and have been used for more than ten years.
China, Brazil, Turkey, the USA and the European Union take a leading position.
The existence of trafficking in illicit goods in the Republic of Kazakhstan has a negative impact on the life and health of citizens, as well as the development of the national economy as a whole.
In the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev “Growth of Kazakhstan’s Welfare: Increasing Income and Living Standards” noted that the health of the nation is the main priority of our state. This means that Kazakhstan people should consume high-quality products.
An effective mechanism for the implementation of the task is the labeling and traceability system for goods, which will become an important component of the digital economy of Kazakhstan.
For participants in the circulation of goods, the process of working in the labeling system is quite simple:
- A manufacturer registers in the system;
- Registers its goods in the Single Catalogue;
- Generates a request for the issue of digital labeling codes;
- Receives the generated codes and begins production with the printing of digital codes on the packaging of goods.
A digital code is a passport of goods that cannot be lost or falsified. It allows you to trace the entire path of the goods - from the manufacturer to the final consumer.
- Goods are released into circulation by generating electronic shipping documents in the labeling system, and through integration with the accounting system of the enterprise.
When goods are in circulation, the digital code is indicated in all shipping documents, so that at any time you can find information about the manufacturer, permits for the goods, the shelf life of the goods, and other information.
- Removal of the labelled goods from circulation occurs at the online cashier’s office when selling them directly to consumers.
- Through the mobile application consumers will be able to easily verify authenticity and find out the whole truth about the product in order to buy only legal products for themselves and close ones.
- In the case of export, information on the digital code of the goods will be transferred to another country, where all information about the product and its manufacturer will be available to the buyer.
The introduction of the labeling and traceability system will ensure:
For consumers:
- Improvement of the standard of living and health of citizens due to the possibility of acquiring high-quality and legal goods;
- Implementation of the function of public control of goods.
For business:
- Reduction of costs through the introduction of the principle of Just in time (just in time);
- Increase of profits by replacing illegal products on the market;
- Protection of the brand of a bona fide manufacturer.
For the state:
- Reduction of the share of the shadow economy;
- Growth of budget revenues.
The goods labeling system is one of the important stages on the path to the development of the digital economy of Kazakhstan, which will ensure the protection of manufacturers of Kazakhstan products, and will set a serious barrier to the access of counterfeit products to the consumer.
