STATE REVENUE COMMITTEE OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE
OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
PRESS RELEASE
An individual entrepreneur from the Atyrau region paid the principal tax debt of 3.4 thousand tenge, for which he received a tax discount of 772.2 thousand tenge for a fine
As part of the ongoing tax amnesty to the enterprise of Nur-Sultan, who paid 67.8 million tenge of the main debt on taxes to the budget, 40.1 million tenge was written off. And an individual entrepreneur from the Atyrau region paid the principal tax debt of 3.4 thousand tenge, for which he received a tax discount of 772.2 thousand tenge for a fine.
In the whole republic on May 15, 2019, 36 968 taxpayers repaid the amount of arrears, listed as of October 1, 2018, for a total of 7, 3 billion tenge.
According to the data, taxpayers are subject to write-off of fines in the amount of 1.9 billion tenge and fines in the amount of 96 million tenge.
Currently 26,573 taxpayers were charged a fine in the amount of 1.5 billion tenge, and 31 taxpayers were charged a fine in the amount of 28 million tenge.
It’s known that from January 1, 2019, the Law came into force providing for a tax amnesty for small and medium-sized businesses, and from February 8, 2019, the Rules for writing off the amount of fines and penalties were introduced subject to the payment of the amount of arrears.
Recall that according to preliminary data, 90,077 subjects of medium and small business (31,210 legal entities and 58,867 individual entrepreneurs) fall into amnesty, which as of October 1, 2018 have tax debts in the amount of 340.6 billion tenge.
At the same time, it is not necessary for small and medium businesses to apply to state revenue authorities: write-off of penalties and fines will be made without a taxpayer application, with the exception of those taxpayers who have received a deferment / installment on paying taxes or are in a rehabilitation procedure.
We recall that in our country tax amnesty was held several times, each time providing an opportunity for businesses to get rid of accumulated debts and continue their legitimate commercial activities.
Thus, in the history of independent Kazakhstan, three times (in 1997–1999, in 2011 and 2015), tax amnesties for writing off penalties and fines were used to improve the financial and economic activities of business entities.
Within the framework of only two recent shares (2011 and 2015), the debts were written off on penalties and fines totaling 143.7 billion tenge, including in 2011 - 23.1 billion tenge, in 2015 - 120.6 billion tenge.
The amnesty extended to all taxpayers, with the exception of operating in industries with a traditionally high profit, potentially having the ability to pay taxes in a timely manner.
It should be noted that these shares have had a positive effect, for example, 67% of the participants of the latest tax amnesty of 2015 today do not have tax debts.
These are more than 680 thousand taxpayers, of which over 17 thousand are legal entities, 105 thousand are individual entrepreneurs, 557 thousand are natural persons, that is, the common population.
