On the basis of the Training Methodical Center of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a regional seminar on the topic "Big data and the application of machine learning (Big data) in the risk management system. Visualization and data processing in MS Excel and MS Access programs" was held on November 15-17, 2023 with the support of the project of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ):

In order to effectively monitor the quality of public services and improve the professional level and competence of employees of state revenue agencies, training has been organized on tools for creating successful data visualization in presentations, slide design, tables and data processing in Excel, Access software.

Advantages of big data processing:

• identification of unscrupulous taxpayers in order to apply tax control measures to them;
• selection of subjects for tax audits based on risk assessment;

- categorization of taxpayers and participants in foreign economic activity by assigning them to categories of low, medium or high risk;

- confirming the reliability of the amount of excess value added tax.

Information system of RMS is based on IBM business intelligence software and is a set of tools that allow identifying hidden patterns and anomalies based on Data Mining methods. Allows you to model risks using advanced analytics algorithms, evaluate the accuracy and quality of predictive models. Implement the capabilities of machine learning and improving risk models based on historical information and testing the results of previous model launches.

As a result of training event, participants gained the knowledge on processing and normalizing large volumes of data (more than 10 million records) in Power Query MS Excel. Including combining various, adding data, processing unstructured data, creating pivot tables in Power Pivot MS Excel, interactive complex dashboards, types of MS Access queries.
