REPRESENTATIVES OF INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS "FAUNA&FLORA INTERNATIONAL", "PANTHERA" ACQUAINTED WITH THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CANINE SERVICE OF KAZAKHSTAN

July 15 this year, as part of the development of international cooperation in the field of cynology on the initiative of the "Kazakhstan biodiversity conservation Association", organized and conducted a study visit for representatives of environmental organizations "Fauna&Flora International", "Panthera" with the activities of the canine service of Kazakhstan, which is one of the leading centers of Asia, with international status "Regional Canine center of the WTO", Canine center (Almaty).
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the fight against illegal trade and the suppression of smuggling of wild flora and fauna that are on the verge of extinction or listed in the red book, as well as the development of constructive cooperation in the field of cynology with environmental organizations "Fauna&Flora International", "Panthera".
Since 2014, the canine center has been training canine officers with service and search dogs under the program "Search for derivatives" for customs and border services of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The delegation was attended by Peter Benjamin, Ashton Taylor, Tatiana Felicity from the USA, from Germany - Zuter Steffen, from the UK - David James, Sarah Glushchek.
During the meeting, the participants of the delegation were given the opportunity to get acquainted with the material, technical and educational base, training methods and tactics of dogs used in the Canine center. A demonstration of the searchable working qualities of service dogs prepared for searching for derivatives and methods of tactically correct and methodically correct use of dogs during inspection is presented.
As a result of the meeting, the experts noted the high level of organization of canine activities of the Kazakh service, as well as the high professional level of the organization of the meeting, they gave a positive assessment of the Center in the field of training and use of service dogs in the fight against illegal trade and the suppression of smuggling of wild flora and fauna, noted the professionalism of specialists of the Canine center.
