The seventh meeting of the heads of the Turkic Council customs administrations

was held in Astana

On March 11, 2019, the seventh meeting of customs services heads of the Turkic-Speaking States Cooperation Council was held in Astana.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Sultangaziev, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ismayil Huseynov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic Sultan Mamasadykov, Deputy Minister of Trade of the Turkish Republic Gondja Isik Yilmaz Batur and representatives of the member States embassies accredited in Astana.

At the meeting, moderated by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee MF RK Marat Sultanaziev and Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev, heads of delegations reviewed the work done by member states in the field of customs cooperation since the last meeting, which was held in May 2017.

In particular, parties have discussed the Silk Road project, Caravanserai initiative, public-private partnership, schedule of training programs to be organized by the member states during 2019, demonstration tour "trade caravan of the Turkic Council on the Great Silk Road", as well as other items on the agenda.

During the meeting, the parties have signed a Memorandum of understanding between the customs administrations of the Turkic Council member states in the field of customs enforcement.
