In accordance with the decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan from may 20, 2020 No. 306 "About some questions of import to the Republic of Kazakhstan and operation of the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan private vehicles registered in the Republic of Armenia" vehicles with left-hand arrangement of controls that are registered on citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the authorized bodies of the Republic of Armenia and imported to the Republic of Kazakhstan until February 1, 2020, are subject to registration in accordance with legislation, with payment of the state registration fee and state fee.

We point out that there is no need to pay customs duties, the fee for the initial registration of motor vehicles and the recycling fee in the case of vehicle registration. At the same time, in cases when the owner makes a decision on the primary registration of transport, the owner of the vehicle has an obligation to pay the above payments.

At the same time, it is necessary to note the inaccuracy of certain explanations in the media about the need to pay customs duties, the fee for the primary registration of motor vehicles and the recycling fee when exporting the vehicle outside the Republic of Kazakhstan. When exporting a vehicle outside the Republic of Kazakhstan, such obligations do not arise.

Also, from the moment of registration, the vehicle will be subject to taxation on vehicles, since according to the tax legislation, the payers of transport tax are individuals who own the objects of taxation on the right of ownership, while the objects of taxation include vehicles registered and (or) registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
