SRC has written off three times larger penalty for the company, that paid the amount of the principal tax debts

Within the framework of the ongoing tax amnesty, the penalty of the enterprise of Astana city in the amount of 61.6 million tenge was written off, since it paid to the budget 20.8 million tenge of the principal tax debts. And an individual entrepreneur from Almaty region paid 661 tenge tax debts and his 21.5 thousand tenge penalty was written off.

In general, in the republic as of February 21, 2019, 31,279 taxpayers repaid the amount of debts registered as of October 1, 2018, for a total amount of 6.3 billion tenge.

According to data, taxpayers’ penalties in the amount of 1.2 billion tenge and fines in the amount of 200 million tenge are subject to be written off.

Until now, 1,383 taxpayers’ penalties in the amount of 119.9 million tenge, one taxpayer’s fine in the amount of 16 thousand tenge have been written off.

As is known from January 1, 2019, the Law was enacted providing for granting of a tax amnesty for small and medium-sized businesses, and on February 8, 2019, the Rules for writing off the amount of penalties and fines were introduced, subject to payment of debts.

We would like to remind that according to preliminary data,

90,077 entities of medium and small business will be included in the amnesty

(31,210 legal entities and 58,867 individual entrepreneurs), which as of

October 1, 2018 have tax debts in the amount of 340.6 billion tenge.

Provided that entities of medium and small business do not need to apply to state revenue authorities: writing-off penalties and fines will be carried out without a taxpayer’s application, except for those taxpayers who are provided tax deferral for paying taxes or are in the rehabilitation procedure.

In addition, currently, pursuant to the instructions of the Head of State for granting a tax amnesty for individuals by writing off the accrued interest, provided that the principal debt is paid, the state revenue authorities developed amendments to the legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan and sent them for approval to the concerned state bodies.
