On March 28, 2022, video-conference negotiations between Mr. Ye. Kozhabergenov, Head of ICD, the SRC of the Ministry of Finance of the RK and Mr. Xia Jun, Deputy Director of CD of China's General Administration of Customs took place at the initiative of the Kazakh side.

The meeting discussed the issues of promoting the project of preliminary online exchange of information between the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and China's General Administration of Customs on goods and vehicles transported across the customs borders of the RK – PRC.

Ye.Kozhabergenov informed that the Kazakh side attaches special importance to customs cooperation with China and drew attention to the implementation of the agreements that were reached on
November 12, 2021 following the 11th meeting of the Subcommittee on Cooperation between entry points and in the field of customs of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee.

The Chinese side reported that the strengthening of customs cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China is of particular importance for China's General Administration of Customs. Xia Jun noted that the project demonstrates its effectiveness and provides common benefits to both sides. 

The parties agreed that the results of cooperation in this area have a positive impact on increasing the volume of mutual trade and investment, lead to the improvement of customs administration, elimination of unnecessary administrative barriers.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that customs cooperation between the countries will continue to be built on a friendly basis, and the decisions taken will contribute to improving the effectiveness of comprehensive cooperation.
