On June 29, the city of Polotsk (Republic of Belarus) hosted the 42nd meeting of the Joint Board of Customs Services of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (JBCS EAEU).

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Daniyar Zhanalinov.

The JBCS considered the law enforcement practice of the customs authorities of the EAEU member states, which is necessary for the unification of approaches in matters of customs administration.

Based on the results of the meeting, a common strategy for the application of the risk management system in the EAEU member states was determined. Issues related to customs control of regulated products, which require the support of a phytosanitary certificate when placed under the customs procedure for export, as well as practical aspects of customs declaration of cash transferred by families and close relatives, were also considered.

The meetings were also attended by the first heads of the customs services of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as well as representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The main activities of the JBCS EAEU are the determination of priority areas in the field of customs, assistance in the convergence and harmonization of customs legislation, coordination of practical interaction between customs and other interested national services and departments of states, assistance in the implementation of interstate and intergovernmental decisions in the field of customs.
