
On May 22, 2023, the 6th meeting of the Subcommittee on Customs Cooperation "Republic of Kazakhstan - European Union" was held in a hybrid mode.
This negotiating platform was created as part of the implementation of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan, of the one part, and the European Union and its Member States, of the other part, dated December 21, 2015.
The Kazakh delegation was headed by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Daniyar Zhanalinov, the European delegation was headed by Mr. Fernando Perreia de Pinnink, Head of the Directorate General for Taxation and the Customs Union of the European Commission.
Also, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Mr. Margulan Baimukhan took part in the meeting.
At the opening ceremony of the 6th meeting of the Subcommittee, the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Daniyar Zhanalinov noted that Kazakhstan and the European Union have a long and mutually beneficial history of cooperation, especially in the field of customs, and that our common goal is to further develop and strengthen these relations.
During the meeting, the Parties exchanged information on innovations in customs legislation, discussed topical issues of cooperation, such as promoting freedom of transit, further implementation of the AEO program, risk management, as well as mutual administrative assistance in inquiry and reference work.
As a result of the meeting, the Parties reached an agreement: on the further development of cooperation within the framework of the Agreement.
