
In the period from November 7 to November 11, 2022, a special course on the topic "Training in working with scanning equipment and image analysis of X-ray devices" was held in the Departament of State Revenue of the Aktobe region, in which specialists of the territorial state revenue bodies of the Aktobe region, West Kazakhstan region and Karaganda region, as well as employees of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated, working with X-ray equipment.

The main goal of the course is to improve the quality of control at checkpoints at the border, which is a complex system of equipment and crew, the implementation by the operators of the RTU (X-ray television installation) of the qualification analysis of scanned images with the information of the submitted documents.
The objective of the course: the use of scanning equipment, improving the skills of identifying dangerous and prohibited items, as well as the description and use of X-ray television installations.
The course began with the registration of participants and the opening of the course, at which the deputy head of the TMC L.T. Kasymkulova spoke, who introduced the participants to the basic concepts of X-ray television installations as “Rapiscan”, “Rapiscan DV", “Smith-Heimann“ and "Heimann-container".
During the training, various eye exercises were used to improve the recognition of hazardous substances presented at different angles. At the end of the first day, the Department of Digitalization and distance learning conducted a preliminary test to predict the results of training, to determine the level of knowledge of participants. The following days of the course covered profiling methods to prevent and detect illegal actions by identifying potentially dangerous passengers, as well as practical exercises to identify and search for explosives, weapons and ammunition, to prevent attempts to illegally transport prohibited items and contraband goods.
There were also trainings for visual memory to identify prohibited items (grenades, synthetic drugs, knives, improvised explosive substances).
Training in working with scanning equipment and image analysis of X-ray devices took place in the form of theoretical and practical classes. In the practical part of the training, the students of the course worked at Aktobe airport on X-ray television installations.
The seminar participants learned how to analyze the images of the RAPISCAN X-ray machine, scanned the luggage and passengers on the flights Sharm El – Sheikh – Aktobe, Istanbul - Aktobe, Aktobe - Baku.
During the practical part of the training, the students of the course revealed the facts of the import of undeclared gold products from Istanbul. At the same time, during the customs control during the inspection of hand luggage, the facts of the export of cash foreign currency, not exceeding 10,000 US dollars, were revealed.
The course ended with a final exam in the form of testing, which consisted of two parts:
➢ according to the program "Trefox" – theoretical part (48 questions);
➢ according to the software product "Simfox" – the practical part (25 bags).
Lecturers and instructors of the training event were employees of the TMC:
- L.T. Kasymkulova – Deputy Head of the TMC;
- Islyamova Zh. M. – Acting Head of the Department of Advanced Training and vocational Training.
The training course was held according to the schedule of the plan and was carried out without disruption.
Following the results of the special course, 21 employees of the border and customs departments of the Aktobe, West Kazakhstan and Karaganda regions received certificates of successful completion of training.
Additionally, a survey was conducted, the analysis of the results of which showed a high level of satisfaction with the organization of the course and the professionalism of the lecturers.
